Product Overview
Ethernet Enablement for Legacy Serial Infrastructure
HERON Gateway P2 is an industrial Modbus gateway designed to connect legacy RS-485 serial devices to Ethernet networks. The device bridges four RS-485 channels to one 10/100 Mbps Ethernet interface, enabling centralized monitoring, protocol conversion, secure configuration, and remote maintenance for distributed industrial assets.
The gateway supports Modbus RTU, Modbus ASCII, and Modbus TCP for integration between serial field devices and Ethernet-based control systems. It also supports MQTT v3.1.1 and v5.0, allowing selected data to be published to SCADA platforms and control data to be subscribed from external systems.
HERON Gateway P2 provides HTTPS web management, user access control, event logging, LED diagnostics, hardware watchdog support, and signed OTA firmware update over Ethernet. With fanless operation, IP40-rated plastic enclosure, and DIN rail mounting, it is well suited for industrial control and monitoring environments.
Typical Applications
Where this gateway is deployed
How It Works
One Gateway. Four Channels. One Network.
HERON Gateway P2 bridges RS-485 serial devices directly to your Ethernet network — converting Modbus RTU to TCP, publishing data via MQTT, and exposing configuration through a secure web interface.
Protocol Engine
Isolation built-in — power isolation (2–2.5 kV DC-DC converter), RS-485 surge protection, and transformer-coupled Ethernet galvanic isolation protect gateway and connected devices from ground loops and transients.

Designed for Real Industrial Deployments
PLC Control Systems
Connect Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, and other Modbus-capable PLCs to your Ethernet control network — without replacing the existing serial wiring.
Utility Cabinets
Bridge energy meters, power analyzers, and protection relays in MV/LV panels to SCADA or building management systems over a single Ethernet connection.
Environmental Monitoring
Aggregate temperature, humidity, and gas sensors spread across large sites — all reading via RS-485 Modbus into one network-visible data point.
Building Automation
Integrate HVAC controllers, lighting systems, and access control units on RS-485 into BMS dashboards using standard Modbus polling over Ethernet.
Measuring Instruments
Read flow meters, pressure transmitters, and multi-function analyzers in process plants directly via Modbus RTU — no separate data logger required.
